The History and Philosophy of The Vein Center

The Vein Center was established in 1989 by Richard A. Michaels, M.D. as a facility dedicated to the treatment of peripheral vascular disease with an emphasis on treatment of varicose and spider veins. We are committed to providing the most effective treatment available for our patients and continually evaluate new equipment and procedures. This allows us to offer new and exciting procedures while avoiding ineffective treatments which are a waste of both time and money.

Unlike some other centers, only a physician will perform vein treatments at The Vein Center. Though nurses and technicians are employed to assist in procedures and perform diagnostic testing, they do not perform any vein treatments. This ensures consistency in results and a more personal relationship with our patients.

We at The Vein Center realize that your time is very valuable. Appointment times are not double booked so our patients can expect to be seen at their scheduled time. If we happen to fall behind, we try to let patients know how much of a delay to expect so they may decide whether or not to reschedule.

Our patients are viewed as our extended family (not a chart number) and we try to treat everyone as we would like to be treated ourselves. We are very proud to maintain a friendly and "low-key" atmosphere in the office and are confident that you will appreciate the courteous manner in which you will be treated.
